It is hard to believe that we are almost completing our first quarter of school. We have had a terrific start to the year!! Here are just a few reminders of things that I have seen or questions that I have had over the first quarter.
-Inside of our school schedule we have a built in reading and math intervention block. During this time we have students going to different classrooms for small group instruction in both math and reading. Each grade level has different times in the day for these interventions. This allows us to flood those grade levels with extra adult support, allowing us to make our group sizes small. This time frame is different from our core reading and math instruction. During this time we are trying to drill down on skills that students need to work on, based on data that we are seeing.
-We have been lucky to have such a warm end of summer and beginning of fall. However, we live in Wyoming and the weather during this time of year can be unpredictable. Please make sure students come to school dressed appropriately for this time of year.
-This year we are trying to go green with our report cards. With that being said, we will not be sending home report cards this school year. These will be available for you to review at the end of the quarter on Parent Portal. If you do not have this set up, you will need to contact the office to get access to this.
-Thank you all so much for your flexibility and willingness to meet with our staff this past week for parent teacher conferences. I know that this was not our typical set up, but felt that this information was vital for your child’s success in the event that we have to move into a Tier Three situation. If you were not able to attend parent teacher conferences, I would encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher so that you are aware of the expectations and format in which Tier Three instruction will be delivered.
Thank you for all you do and your support. It really does take a village to raise a child!!
